for the loose leaflets and brochures. Upon receiving a box of them, stores would typically keep the literature in the back; additionally, stores would find it difficult to reorder literature, uncertain of who to call and what exactly to ask for. Our designers developed a self-mailing box that allowed the literature to reach the store safely.

Once at the store the top and front of the box would be ripped open exposing the front of the literature and the box would become an over-the-counter display holder for the literature, minimizing the space taken by the display (vertically ordered, rather than laying flat on the counter) and giving a bold, immediate visual of the company’s brand, colors and message.

To overcome the reorder hurdle, we employed a partner’s processing system: the partner would print batches of brochures and boxes and – on demand – would assemble boxes filled with the exact brochures needed by the store, who would call the toll-free number printed on the back of the box.


The results: This easy system allowed the customer to maximize cost by printing larger batches of boxes and brochure, storing them at the printer’s facility and shipping them “on demand”. It also allowed stores to quickly and simply order brochures by calling a number printed on the box, and ordering the “codes” needed.

The problem
